Mission
To provide a secure and asynchronous online
mediation process for the efficient and effective resolution of
complex multi-party claims and mass litigation. |
Our
History
Randall E. Butler has been facilitating the
resolution of lawsuits and other disputes as a mediator from
September of 1995 to the present. During that time, Mr. Butler has
helped to resolve hundreds of disputes utilizing the more familiar
traditional form of mediation. But over time, he realized that
traditional mediation is not an effective process for resolving
cases involving large numbers of parties and complex but uniform
issues.
In the face of the challenge presented by mass
litigation and complex multi-party cases, Mr. Butler first created a
more efficient and effective real-time mediation process for the
resolution of these disputes. The new real-time process proved to be
more effective in resolving such disputes, but Mr. Butler realized
that even greater efficiency and cost effectiveness could be
achieved via the Internet. Therefore, in the fall of 2000 Mr. Butler
began working with software developers to create the Butler Online
Mediation process. |

Randall E. Butler, President of Butler
Online Mediation, L.P. and its strategic affiliate, Butler Mediation
Services. Formerly a partner in the law firms of Fulbright &
Jaworski, L.L.P., and Cook, Butler & Doyle, L.L.P., Randy
practiced for eighteen years as a trial lawyer - ten representing
defendants and eight representing plaintiffs in complex personal
injury cases.
Mr. Butler has received over two hundred hours of training in
mediation, negotiation and conflict resolution, including completion
of the Harvard Negotiation Workshop of the Harvard Negotiation
Project at Harvard Law School and the basic and advanced coursework
and practicums of the Institute for Christian Conciliation. Mr.
Butler has also served as an instructor with the Attorney Mediator
Institute and the Institute for Christian Conciliation. |
